First official haircut since May 6th...

This morning Brant, Barry and I decided to get out of the house for a bit.  We needed a couple of odds and ends from  Home Depot and were all craving breakfast from our local diner... Chubbys.  While we were enjoying a few laughs over breakfast, Brant mentioned that he needed a haircut and suggested that I take he and Barry while we were out.  I quickly agreed and Barry seemed puzzled as to why he would need a haircut.  He didn't realize that his hair was really growing in.  I think he looked in the mirror for so long and didn't see hair that it hasn't sunk in that it has all grown back (with the exception of a small patch around his scar).  I mentioned our "usual" salon and Brant quickly suggested Sport Cuts!  I thought about it for a minute, wondering why Brant would have suggested that place, then I recalled seeing the advertisement for that place.  We ended up at Supercuts... hahaha.

  1. I am so moved by what I read on your blog this morning as I prepare to write for my own blog. I am praying that Barry is doing well. I was captivated by what I saw on your blog because my son, Jerrod had a brain tumor 3 years ago and we we took him to Dallas, not even knowing where to go when we got there. At Medical City, Dr. Morgan just happened to be the Neurosurgeon on call. He looked at Jerrod's MRI and and had him transported to Medical Center Plano. We were in the hospital a little more than a month. Dr. Morgan said he would not have even attempted Jerrod's surgery without the Brain Suite. Jerrod is still with us today and is a senior at Lubbock Christian University, where I work.

We are members at Green Lawn Church of Christ, and I noticed you have found a family of loving believers at Highland Oaks Church of Christ. The more I looked at your blog the more connected to you I feel. We live in Lubbock and my daughter, Carly emailed me asking me where to find information on the Brain Suite. She is a freshman at LCU and she is doing a speech in one of her classes on the Brain Suite and Dr. Morgan. We love Dr. Morgan and will never stop telling him thank you for being willing to be used by the Lord in medicine. We still go to Dr. Morgan for our MRI follow up appointments. We were just there in January and we received another good report.

I just wanted to let you know I am praying for Barry and all of your family this morning. I am so happy to have "met you" this morning on your blog. A friend built a web-site for Jerrod during our experience. The site is not beautiful, but if you are interested in looking at it, you can find it at: www.jerrodshelton.com,
